    Black Friday General Information

    What is the GOAT Black Friday Event?

    GOAT Black Friday is an annual event that brings our global community together for nine days of promotions, daily Drops, Auctions and Trivia where you can win prizes as well as receive tickets and badges that unlock exclusive activities. Those looking to participate in the 2023 GOAT Black Friday Event (“Black Friday Event”) should also read the Black Friday 2023 Official Rules.

    To participate in the Black Friday Event, you will need to download the free GOAT mobile application for iOS or Android (the “GOAT App”).

    This year’s Black Friday Event will consist of (i) Drops; (ii) Auctions; and (iii) Trivia. For more information on how to participate, please see below.

    Who is eligible to participate?

    The Black Friday Event is available to individuals who are eligible to open and maintain an account on the GOAT App (a “GOAT Account”) and who are eighteen (18) or older at the time of entry. THE BLACK FRIDAY EVENT IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC, CANADA, WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE.

    Certain promotional activities, items and prizes may have additional restrictions on eligibility and age requirements.

    What are the important dates?

    Please note that all times listed in the GOAT App during the Black Friday Event will be in your local time zone.

    All times listed below are in Pacific Time (PT). Pacific Time is eight (8) hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and three (3) hours behind Eastern Time (ET).

    Black Friday Event

    This year’s Black Friday Event will run from Thursday, November 16, 2023 at approximately 10 AM PT to Friday, November 24, 2023 at approximately 7:15 PM PT.

    Reminders

    Throughout the Black Friday Event, you will be able to set reminders for Drop and Auction open times. Reminders for Trivia open times are automatically set for you.

    For Auctions, you will receive the reminders either via in-app message or push notification 30 minutes and 1 minute before the opening of the event.

    For Drops, you will receive the reminders either via in-app message or push notification 10 minutes and 1 minute before the opening of the event.

    To receive the reminders, you must ensure you have the Black Friday Event push notifications turned on.

    How do I participate in Black Friday?

    To participate in the Black Friday Event, please update to the latest version of the GOAT App in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then tap the GOAT Black Friday tab in the top navigation bar of the GOAT App. All exclusive items offered during the Black Friday Event will be listed on the GOAT Black Friday tab and will be available in limited quantities, while supplies last. Items will be updated and added throughout the Black Friday Event, so check the GOAT App daily.

    Once you have read and agreed to the Black Friday Official Rules, you will be able to participate in the Black Friday Event. Each eligible participant will receive tickets upon entry. You can obtain additional tickets, no purchase necessary, by participating in the Black Friday Event activities as described further below.

    This year’s Black Friday Event will consist of (i) Drops, (ii) Auctions; and (iii) Trivia. For more information on how to participate, please see below.

    I don’t own an iOS or Android device, can I still participate?

    The GOAT Black Friday Event is limited to the GOAT App on iOS and Android devices. You will not be able to participate without the GOAT App.

    Can I create multiple Black Friday profiles?

    You may not create multiple Black Friday profiles. Multiple account registrations may also result in disqualification and is a violation of the GOAT Terms of Use.

    Can GOAT Group employees participate?

    Employees of GOAT Group and their immediate family members and households may not participate in the GOAT Black Friday Event.

    Drops

    What are Black Friday Drops?

    Drops are flash sales that allow Black Friday participants the opportunity to purchase items at a special price for a limited time, while supplies last. Drops will occur multiple times a day throughout the entirety of the Black Friday Event. Drop items may include, but are not limited to, sneakers, apparel and accessories.

    Check the GOAT App frequently during the duration of the Black Friday Event to participate in Drops.

    To participate in a Drop, you can either directly access a Drop through a relevant push notification or through the Drops section located in your Black Friday home screen. To unlock a Drop, you will need to submit the number of tickets or the badge type required. You may not be able to participate if you do not have the required number of tickets or badge type.

    Certain Drops are only available for participants in select locations. You will need to turn on your location services to see if you are eligible.

    Once unlocked, you can join a Drop at the designated open time by simply tapping and holding one of the item images that are displayed beside the desired Drop. You must then complete a CAPTCHA challenge as part of our efforts to remove all bots and ensure a fair and honest experience.

    After entering your payment and shipping information, you will enter the Drop queue. As part of the queue process, we will endeavor to remove all bots to seek to ensure a fair and honest experience. Drop items will be limited in quantity and available for purchase at a special price. Items included in Drops are only available for a limited time or until sold out.

    You will only be charged if your Drop purchase is confirmed on a first come, first served basis. You will be notified in the GOAT App if your Drop purchase is successful. You will also receive a confirmation email once your order has been processed.

    Once you enter a Drop queue, you will not be able to cancel your order or leave the Drop queue.

    Drop items are not eligible for GOAT Storage.

    Please note that while certain Drop items may be listed for $0, shipping, taxes and applicable costs will be calculated at checkout.

    Please note all Drop purchases are FINAL SALE. You are always welcome to list eligible items for sale via the GOAT App or alias.

    Will I be charged when I enter my payment information in a Drop?

    Entering your payment information does not guarantee purchase. After entering your payment and shipping information, you will enter a Drop queue. As part of the queue process, we will endeavor to remove all bots to seek to ensure a fair and honest experience.

    You will only be charged if your Drop purchase is confirmed on a first come, first served basis. You will be notified in the GOAT App and you will also receive a confirmation email. Once you enter a Drop, you will not be able to cancel your order or leave the Drop queue.

    Please note all Drop purchases are FINAL SALE. You are always welcome to list eligible items for sale via the GOAT App or alias.

    Are all payment methods accepted during a Drop?

    No. Affirm, Afterpay, Alipay, Giropay and GOAT Credit cannot be used to purchase a Drop item. Likewise, promo codes will not apply.

    Accepted payment methods for Drops include credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

    Do you accept payment for Drops over the phone or email?

    No. We do not accept payment over the phone or via email. We only allow for secure purchases through the GOAT App for Drop purchases during the Black Friday Event.

    Will you have a full-size run for Drops?

    Drop items available during the Black Friday Event are limited, and therefore may not have a full-size run.

    Auctions

    What are Black Friday Auctions?

    Auctions allow Black Friday participants the opportunity to bid on, and potentially purchase, exclusive items. Auction items may include, but are not limited to, sneakers, apparel and accessories.

    Check the GOAT App frequently during the duration of the Black Friday Event to participate in Auctions. Auctions will occur multiple times a day throughout the entirety of the Black Friday Event.

    Please note that Auctions for Black Friday participants located in Japan will be conducted by GOAT Group JP GK, with secondhand goods dealer permit number 303322321289 granted by the Ota District Police.

    How do I participate in Black Friday Auctions?

    To participate in an Auction, you can either directly access the Auction through a relevant push notification or through the Auction section located in your Black Friday home screen. If you would like to bid in a Live Auction, you must first register by providing your full name as well as your payment, shipping and billing information. This information will be used to process your payment in the event you place a winning bid.

    Live Auctions

    To join a Live Auction, you must first register by providing your full legal name as well as your payment, shipping and billing information. Please note that entering your payment information during auction registration does not guarantee purchase. After registering, you can enter the Live Auction once it opens. During the Live Auction, your GOAT username and location will be visible to other participants.

    As part of the registration process, we will endeavor to remove all bots to seek to ensure a fair and honest experience. Bidding will begin approximately 5 minutes after the Live Auction opens and entry to the Live Auction has been locked. Once the Live Auction is locked, you will have the opportunity to place your bid. Please note that registering for a Live Auction does not guarantee participation as, once entry to the Live Auction is locked, additional registrants cannot join. You can, however, still view the Live Auction proceedings if you have missed the entry window.

    You will have one opportunity to place a bid during the first round. If you place one of the top bids at the time the first round closes, you will proceed to the final round of the Live Auction where you will be given the opportunity to increase your bid. During the final round of the Live Auction, you will only be bidding against the other top bidders. Please note that the number of top bidders that advance to the final round is Auction-dependent and will be communicated during the first round.

    You will win the Live Auction item if you place the highest bid during the final round. You can update your bid price at any time during the final round of a Live Auction. Please note that the highest bid in the first round will become the floor in the final round (i.e., during the final round, your new bid cannot be lower than the highest bid placed in the first round).

    You may leave the Live Auction at any point. However, if you placed the top bid in the final round and then exit the Auction prior to close, you will still win the Auction item. If you no longer wish to participate in the Live Auction, you must leave the Live Auction prior to placing a bid in the final round.

    The final round of a Live Auction may be extended in the event there are numerous last-minute bids. The bid extension will be reflected in the Live Auction countdown timer. You may need to refresh the Live Auction page to see if bidding for an item has closed.

    Following the Live Auction’s close, you will be notified in the GOAT App if you have won the Live Auction item. You will also receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to complete your purchase. You will not be automatically charged upon winning the Live Auction.

    Auction items are not eligible for GOAT Storage.

    You will be responsible for all applicable costs, taxes and shipping associated with a Live Auction item, which will be calculated upon checkout.

    Absentee Auctions

    Absentee Auctions do not require prior registration to participate. Once you enter the Absentee Auction, you will have the opportunity to place your bid.

    Your bid must exceed the starting bid price set for the Absentee Auction in order to be placed. You can update your bid at any time during the course of the Absentee Auction.

    For certain Absentee Auctions, multiple top bidders may win. All bids placed during an Absentee Auction are binding.

    Upon close of an Absentee Auction, the winner(s) will be notified in the GOAT App. You will also receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to complete your purchase. You will not be automatically charged upon winning an Absentee Auction.

    You will be responsible for all applicable costs, taxes and shipping associated with an Absentee Auction item, which will be calculated upon checkout.

    Are all payment methods accepted during an Auction?

    No. Affirm, Afterpay, Alipay, Giropay and Klarna cannot be used to purchase an Auction item. Likewise, promo codes will not apply.

    Accepted payment methods for Auctions include both debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

    Please note all Live and Absentee Auction purchases are FINAL SALE and ineligible for GOAT Storage.

    You are always welcome to list eligible items for sale via the GOAT App or alias.

    Do you accept payment for Auction items over the phone or email?

    No. We do not accept payment over the phone. We only allow for secure purchases made through a customer service representative who will reach out via email following the close of a Live Auction.

    Trivia

    What is Black Friday Trivia?

    Black Friday Trivia allows participants to earn Black Friday tickets and badges and unlock surprise games by quickly and accurately answering trivia questions on various topics. Tickets and badges earned from Black Friday Trivia are required to unlock exclusive Drops.

    There are three rounds of Black Friday Trivia per day, each with different topics based on that day’s theme. The Black Friday themes are influenced by popular culture, fashion, media and more in Japan, France and the United States.

    The results of Black Friday Trivia are determined based on a participant’s knowledge and skill rather than chance or luck.

    How do I participate?

    To participate in Black Friday Trivia, you can either directly access a round of trivia through a relevant push notification or through the Trivia section located in your Black Friday home screen. If you join a round of Live Trivia prior to the start time, you will wait in the lobby until the round starts. The lobby opens one minute before the start of a round. Once a round of Live Trivia starts, you may join at any time. The time that has elapsed after the round opens will be recorded as your “Start Time”, which factors into your overall results and rankings.

    Each round consists of five questions and surprise games where you have an opportunity to earn prizes like GOAT Credit, rare items and more. Questions are a mix of true or false and multiple choice. You must attempt to answer each question in order to complete the trivia round. All prizes of GOAT Credit expire one year after the date of issuance unless otherwise indicated.

    It is a participant’s responsibility to ensure that the Internet or mobile connection for play is reliable.

    You will receive both a global and local ranking based on your results if you participate in either Live or Non-live Trivia. Your rankings and results are determined by your start time, accuracy and speed.

    You will receive time penalties for late starts, wrong answers as well as for not participating in Live Trivia. Penalties will factor into your total time, overall results and rankings.

    What is the difference between Live and Non-live Trivia?

    Live Trivia is only open for 30 minutes. Once a round of Live Trivia ends, you can still play Non-live Trivia until the next Live Trivia event starts.

    Only participants in Live Trivia will have the opportunity to win prizes, GOAT Credit or badges in the surprise games.

    Black Friday Badges and Tickets

    How do I obtain badges?

    All eligible participants can obtain badges by participating in Black Friday Trivia. Badges are earned by accurately answering Live Trivia questions. Each round of trivia provides an opportunity to earn a badge that corresponds to that round’s topic. Country badges for Japan, France and the United States are also awarded at the end of each country’s trivia-play based on rankings.

    You may view your badges at any time in your Black Friday profile, which can be accessed from the Black Friday home screen.

    How do I obtain tickets?

    All eligible participants who enter the Black Friday Event will receive a set number of tickets upon entering the Black Friday event in the GOAT App. Additional tickets can be obtained by engaging with the GOAT App and actively participating in the Black Friday Event. You may also obtain tickets by sharing certain aspects of the Black Friday Event to various social media platforms. Further details outlining ticket activities and number of tickets earned can be found in the Black Friday home screen located in the GOAT App.

    Tickets will automatically be added to your Black Friday tickets tab if you successfully complete the applicable activity. All GOAT decisions regarding tickets are final and binding.

    You may view your tickets at any time from the tickets tab in your Black Friday profile. You may earn tickets through the methods listed below.

    Being an early GOAT member

    You will receive tickets for having a GOAT Account created prior to January 1, 2020. Accounts must be active and in good standing as of November 16, 2023 at 5:00 PM PT. Deleted, inactive, or suspended GOAT Accounts are not eligible.

    Being a GOAT or alias seller

    You will receive tickets for having a GOAT or alias Account with at least one (1) active listing. Sellers on alias must have linked their GOAT Account to their alias account prior to Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 12:00 AM PT.

    Selling on alias

    You will receive tickets for selling at least one (1) sneaker or apparel item on alias during 2023.

    You will receive tickets for having sold at least one (1) sneaker or apparel item on alias in 2023.

    Purchasing on GOAT

    You will receive tickets for having purchased at least one (1) sneaker or apparel item on GOAT during 2023.

    Participating in past GOAT Black Friday Events

    You will receive tickets for having participated in past GOAT Black Friday Events.

    Additionally, you will receive tickets for participating in any of the Black Friday 2022 Drops, Auctions, Raffles and/or Spaces.

    Early access to the Black Friday Event

    You will receive tickets for accessing the Black Friday tab in the GOAT App and registering before the official start of the Black Friday Event on Thursday, November 16 at approximately 10 AM PT.

    You will receive tickets for sharing the Black Friday Early Access link before the official start of Black Friday on Thursday, November 16 at approximately 10 AM PT.

    Entering the Black Friday Event

    You will receive tickets for confirming your Black Friday 2023 username prior to entering the Black Friday Event. You will also earn tickets for setting your location.

    Entering a Drop

    You will receive tickets for completing the CAPTCHA provided before each Drop you enter. No purchase necessary.

    Participating in Trivia

    You will receive tickets when you participate in any Black Friday Trivia round, both Live or Non-live. Please note that you will earn more tickets by playing Live Trivia than you would when participating in Non-live Trivia.

    Sharing on social media

    You will receive tickets for each share on TikTok, Instagram Stories and Snapchat. Each prize may only be shared once per social media platform. Sharing a Drop or Auction will also earn tickets per share, per social media platform.

    All shares on social media platforms must be on your own page on the applicable platform and in compliance with the applicable social media platform’s terms and conditions.

    Sharing via SMS will not earn you tickets.

    Black Friday Event participation

    You will receive tickets upon 50K, 100K, 250K, 500K, 1M, 1.5M and 2M participants entering the Black Friday Event.

    Why haven’t I received any tickets for my social media shares?

    Please allow up to 24 hours for social media platforms to process the share. If, after that point, you still have not received tickets from sharing, please submit a help request. GOAT’s determination on social media shares and provision of tickets is final and binding.

    Black Friday Purchases and Prizes

    What items are included in the Black Friday Event?

    Our Black Friday Event includes coveted sneakers, apparel, accessories and more.

    How will I know if my purchase was successful?

    If you are successfully able to make a purchase in either a Drop, Auction or surprise game, you will receive an email and/or push notification with your order confirmation. You must be subscribed to emails and have push notifications turned on in order to be alerted of your purchase.

    It is your responsibility to provide us with correct information for all Event notifications. If you entered your email incorrectly, you can update it under your account settings through the GOAT App before Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11:59 PM PT.

    All prizes or items that you have the opportunity to claim can also be found in the Prizes section of your Black Friday profile.

    How long will it take for me to receive my item(s)?

    It can take up to 60 days for your item to reach you. International shipping times vary. Once the package is scanned in by the courier, you will receive a confirmation email that includes your tracking information.

    Shipping and Returns

    Do I have to pay for shipping?

    Yes. Standard shipping rates and taxes apply for all Black Friday items, including Drop, Auction and surprise game items.

    Can I change my shipping address?

    We are unable to accommodate any shipping address changes for GOAT Black Friday items after an order is submitted.

    Does the name on my credit card have to match my account name?

    The name on your credit or debit card does not have to match the name on the account that is selected. However, all orders go through a safe transaction review to endeavor to ensure that there is no fraudulent activity. If the name does not match, it may get flagged by our payment processor and your purchase may be delayed or declined.

    What is the return policy for items purchased through the Black Friday Event?

    All purchases as part of the Black Friday Event are FINAL SALE. We do not issue refunds or accept returns or exchanges for such purchases. You are always welcome to list eligible items for sale via the GOAT App or alias.
